ISBN 978-2-89105-979-4 Content of the Dictionnaire génélogique du Québec ancien The Dictionnaire généalogique du Québec ancien is a genealogical dictionary based on the data from vital event registration of the 1621-1765 period found in the catholic parish registers. The genealogical reconstitution has been done, yielding the information relating to each family: name of the spouses and of their parents, and names of their children , with dates of birth, marriage and death, as long as these events happened before 1766. A smooth system allows the user to navigate from one generation to the next or between one's different marriages. Nearly 300 000 vital events relating to some 190 000 people are in the Dictionnaire. They were compiled by the Programme de recherche en démographie historique (PRDH) of the Université de Montréal. One wanting to go back to this basic data can use the RAB du PRDH, a CD-Rom giving access to their main elements.
